We have a lot of bugs for startup crashes in tests. Many look similar - here's a bug to tie them together.

The recently landed linker fixes should help with startup crashes, it would be nice to track if some of these go away.

At the same time, I'm currently landing patches that change startup behavior in terms of library extraction and loading, which could expose more startup race conditions.

Most dependent bugs are dormant now and remaining crashes are infrequent.

Startup crashes during tests seem to have started again: bug 1329711 (just reopened), bug 1411215 and others...
