From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311 BuildID: 2002031106 If a second tab is opened, it can not be closed with either the command "W" or by clicking the "x" box. If I have multiple tabs, ie. more than 2, I can close all but the second. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open a second tab, either by command, or through default to "open in new tab" 2.attempt to close second tab. Actual Results: nothing happens. Expected Results: Second tab should disappear. Hardware: PowerComputing upgraded to G3 400Mhz/512 w/ 288MB RAM, 2 1GB HDs. App is currently installed on secondary HD.

This happens to me, also, on win98. I first noticed it using RC3, and it is also present in build 2002 05 30 06. A workaround is to close all other tabs, leaving the tab-that-would-not-die as the sole tab, which, for me, hides the tab bar. Upon opening a new tab, and hence restoring the tab bar, everything will be peachy keen.
WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530 Problem obsolete or "only Mac"? please also see bug 137477

Interesting. This suggests that we never went into tabbed mode for some reason.
WorksForMe using Mac/2002072203.
I'm seeing this in build 2002082208, except that it's more general now: I cannot close _any_ tabs, either with Ctrl-W, the "x" box, or the menu item.
Jason, John, and morpheus@alumni.princeton.edu, can you reproduce this problem using another Mozilla user profile?
