We would like to run many or all of our existing testsuite through a framework that will set a SOCKS proxy for Firefox and can alert if any connections (DNS, TCP, UDP) go outside of the proxy. (WebRTC will be a tricky one to address, but we can disable those tests until we have a solution in place for it. For that, see also #1314443 and #1314448)

Hi Tom, Jonathan and I are thinking that if we could give you a hand on this bug. Do you already have any plan on how to implement this framework? Any idea that you could share with us?
