1317975 - Lightning 5.3b1 does not retain Allow setting for Google calendar

Steps to reproduce:

In attempting to see if an issue related to bug 1290911 was fixed, I tested the candidate build of 51.0b1. I was running TB 50.0b3 with Lightning 5.2 and Provider for Google Calendar 3.1 for weeks without issue. After installation of 51.b1---which installs Lightning 5.3b---I noticed it prompted me for my calendar password for my org (which uses Google mail, not vanilla GMail). After entering my credentials and clicking "Allow" at the prompt for allowing Thunderbird to manage my calendar, I restarted Thunderbird only to be prompted again. I repeated this a few more times noting the same undesirable behavior.


Actual results:

Since it continued to ignore the "Allow" setting no matter how many times I tried, I reverted back to 50.0b3 and re-installed Lightning 5.2 (from http://tinyurl.com/jxovavg) and things went back to normal.


Expected results:

Updating to TB 51.0b or Lightning should not break Google Calendaring. The *only* difference which I could possibly suspect with respect to my org's account is that it uses OAuth2 as the preferred authentication method. Whereas the GMail account I have on the same install of TB uses "Normal Password" for the authentication method.

There is not TB 51 beta yet. We're preparing it now, so I don't know what you were try to run.

Google Calendar + Lightning 5.3 is a known regression, see Bug 1301422.
