Hi, can you attach to this bug a screenshot of the issue, please? Because as stated in comment #1, it should be localized. Also, are you using a packaged version of Firefox maintained by a Linux distro (if so, which one?), or official binaries ( https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-50.0.2-SSL&os=linux64&lang=fr )?

Hi, thank you for your reply. I had this bug since I began to use a master password (1 or 2 years ago). I have tried Ubuntu, Arch Linux, Debian, Fedora and Opensuse on several machines with different user profiles. I usually install the packaged version provided by the distro. I have attached a screenshot from a Ubuntu 16.04 install with a brand new linux user profile. I also can confirm comment #1 : it works with Windows.

Thanks for the screenshot & info. I can reproduce the issue with the stock Firefox package on Ubuntu (both 49 and 50.0.2), but it cannot be reproduced with official binaries. It’s likely a langpack bug or a distro repackage issue. Axel, you likely know where we should move this bug?

Thank you. I just wanted to add that I have tried https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-50.0.2-SSL&os=linux64&lang=fr on an Arch Linux install (which has the same issue) and it works, the prompt is in French.
Moving to Core::Security. The problem is caching the string bundles in https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/default/security/manager/ssl/nsNSSComponent.cpp#l1278 on startup.
