Summary: [Regression] Messenger fails to launch thur the menu or component bar icon → [Regression] Component bar icons don't open windows
I'm changing the summary. I found that if I launch mailnews and click on the browser component bar icon, I run into the same problem. Reassigning to danm because I think he's working on window opening code. Please reassign if I'm wrong about that.

You're not by any chance referring to Norris' horkage of all window opening yesterday, are you? A vanilla build from the closed tree this morning pretty much refused to open nearly any window. Updating mozilla/caps after about 3:00 PM today fixes that problem.
I might be referring to this. I haven't tried a build from today yet.
