Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 Build ID: 20161208153507 Steps to reproduce: Printer is Canon MX922. Printer set for Grayscle or color printing. When using Firefox (Chrome and Safari works) everything prints in color although "grayscale" is selected. Actual results: When using Firefox (Chrome and Safari works) everything prints in color although "grayscale" is selected. Firefox is not recognizing the "grayscale setting" but safari and Chrome recognize it and print in grayscale (not color). Expected results: Should have printed Black and white-grayscale.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to report this. This looks like it is probably a duplicate of bug 1321053. Would you be able to test Developer Edition [1] to see if it is working there? [1] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/developer/

Hi Bob It prints in grayscale when I use the developer version. What is the solution for "regular" Firefox? Thanks very much. Kris
Hi Kris, (In reply to kbaner1@yahoo.com from comment #2) > Hi Bob > It prints in grayscale when I use the developer version. What is the > solution for "regular" Firefox? As a temporary workaround, does printing to a PDF and then using OS X Preview to print in black and white work for you? To do that, in the print dialog for Firefox, click the "PDF" menu, then click "Open PDF in Preview". That will open the document as a PDF in the Preview application and from there you should be able to do black and white prints as you normally would. The fixes in Developer Edition are scheduled to be released in Firefox in March, 2017. I'll work on getting them uplifted so that they are available in Firefox sooner than that. Closing this bug as a dupe of bug 1321053. I just need to determine which fixes in build 52 fixed this and work on getting them uplifted. Will update 1321053 with details.

Thanks very much Haik and Bob. Printing via pdf preview (as you suggested), works. We will wait for the fix. Happy Holidays. Kris
