Right on the heels of the fix for bug 35046, the download manager has arrived and regressed that enhancement. Let's get the percent display back in for those of us who would rather not use the download manager.
I'm still seeing it, 2002032003 Win 98. Reporter: Please always specify which Build ID you're using.
2002032003 on Win98. Sorry. Noticed I'd left it out just after clicking the submit button.
Just how do you choose not to use the download manager? I didn't think not using it was an option. (At it's current state, I would prefer to go back to the old download method. The DM is not yet polished / functional enough to do a better job than what was there before.)
Preferences -> Navigator -> Downloads
Sorry, there's been some confusion. I hadn't meant I didn't know how to show a progress window rather than the Download Manager. I'd meant I didn't know how to disable the DM altogether. (I assumed the wrong thing by the text "who would rather not USE the download manager" - which more accurately, I suppose, should read "who would rather not VIEW" it.) Even if you don't see the DM itself, it's still running in the background. I'd thought that the initial comment indicated that there was a way of disabling the DM altogether. Also, as a follow-up comment to what's really being discussed, the downloads prefs UI is now missing. See bug 132440.
I mistakenly thought the UI was disabling the Download Manager, since the choices include 'Open download manager' and 'Open a progress window'. This implies disabling to me. If noone has opened a 'disable download manager pref' bug I'll do it.
This is fixed as of 2002032203.
