Hmm even if the animation gets started, this test still fails.  synthesizeMouseAtPoint does not fire 'mousemove' event at all..

There are lots of oranges since I based on a revision on autoland that does not include stylo-failures.md changes.

Anyway, this test can be run without any problem now.  I'd say this change, https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/096add92a79f, fixed the timeout.  Thank you, Boris!
