User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20170105004018 Steps to reproduce: Firefox Developer Edition 52.0a2. Visiting sites with login forms to which I have passwords saved in my browser's passwords manager. Actual results: Don't know if it's an actual bug or simply someone in Mozilla thought it would be helpful feature (it IS NOT!!!). When I click on form's input (login or pass) a list of available saved passwords show up (simple list with a key symbol and login next to it). If I hit Delete on my keyboard on any of the items from the list, it's gone. My saved login and password is deleted just like that! Expected results: Nothing should have happend, like it was in previous Firefox branches. If I need to manage my passwords I go to Preferences and use my passwords manager. That's safe enough. Deleting it just like that from the list is very dangeres bug and as a feature it's uterly stupid and irresponsible. At least it should ask if I actually want to delete this login and password and definitely there should be an option in preferences to disable that kind of passwords management.

This is not a new feature like is implied in comment 0. I suspect there are existing open/closed bugs about this. At least on OS X the user needs to use Shift+Delete which is less likely to be accidentally used though this is currently aligned with form history which IMO is fine to easily delete.

Summary: Very dangerous bug/feature causes loosing passwords → Delete key on a selected login in autocomplete shouldn't delete the login from storage
Whiteboard: [DUPEME]
I can see it's even more messed up. Autocomplete list is being shown for both login input and password input if you click on it. This way, if you have couple login/passwords saved for this form, you can pick login from one and password (if input is empty) from the other! Uterly pointless, stupid and dangerous :o
Mass wontfix for bugs affecting firefox 52.

Is there a way to stop the gmail address field (on the login page) from displaying all the gmail addresses that you have ever typed in it?

When logging in with Google Chrome or trying to set up a new account, anything you type which starts with the same letter as the one that you are trying to use currently will show up in the auto-complete field, I don't want that.

I understand that this is a convenient feature in some cases, but the thing is--I know this shouldn't've happened, but it has actually happened more than once--I sometimes mistyped my password in the Gmail address field right after the address, mistakingly assuming that the prompt had already been moved to the password field, and then hit "Enter" without looking first. The next time I tried to enter my Gmail address, it popped up the address followed by my password as one of the entries on the list of email addresses that shows up, and I couldn't get rid of the entry.

Is there a way to remove these? The autofill feature in Chrome is a time saver, and so I don't really want to turn it off. It would be helpful to be able to edit out some of the typed info, though, so it won't show up again -- is this possible to do? https://www.igarageband.net/

This is the Firefox issue tracker, not the Chrome one. In Firefox you can use the delete key (or shift-delete on macOS) when the row is highlighted blue (use the arrow keys to select).
