The analogy is simple:

Address Book:Email completion::Bookmarks:URL completion

That is, the address book contains a list of all frequently-used or important
email addresses, and is therefore a natural choice for using to help complete
user-typed email addresses.  The interface also permits aliases as shortcuts to
these email addresses.

Similarly, bookmarks contain a list of frequently-used or important web sites,
and is a natural choice for URL completion.  Bookmarks already support keywords
as aliases to these links, but the completion is based on the history. 
Unfortunately, completion via the history often misses completion of sites I
feel are important, but don't use regularly.

I'm surprised that this hasn't been reported already!  But, I couldn't find it
anywhere.
