Happens with Nightly and also with Firefox provided by Fedora.

I can reproduce this bug in Fedora 25 with XWayland backend. Does not happen with Nightly builds for wayland, 52.0a1, BuildID 20170215004354, downloaded from https://firefox-flatpak.mojefedora.cz/ with build scripts from https://github.com/xhorak/firefox-devedition-flatpak As a result, I assume that this bug is specific to XWayland.

This might be a bug in either the compositor or the toolkit Gtk+: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=748498

The same issue is with Firefox/Fedora 26, both Wayland and X11 builds on Wayland session. The problem (AFAIK) is with CSD and delayed window composition - Firefox paints to child window where the parent one (with CSD shadows) may be already showed.

I was wrong here, it's definitely a Gtk bug. I created a simple Gtk only testcase which is attached to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=748498
The black borders while resizing on XWayland appear to be fixed by Bug 1521012.
