When reading messages, or when composing an S/Mime message, the tooltips when
"mouse over" those icons should provide some information.

We should start by brainstorming what text should be shown in the tooltips.

The brainstorming should be done separately for message compose windows and for
message reading.

In the message compose window, right now, the only thing we could show are
messages like "this message will be sent encrypted" or "this message will be
sent signed". (It would be nice to display more detailed information here, but
we can't do it unless bug 144402 gets implemented.)

For message reading, we could display the same info that is shown in the message
security info window. I.e. show the signature status info in the tooltip of the
signature icon, and the encryption status info in the tooltip of the encryption
icon.

Clarification, it's not about new icons, but about tooltip text messages.

I filed this bug on behalf on someone else.
The original proposal was: dynamically check the settings for the current email and dynamically produce a text that will be shown when hovering.

In my opinion, this is not strictly necessary. In my opinion, hovering is not the best UI strategy any more, given we have now touchscreens etc.

I believe any information that might be of interest for such "hovering" should be clearly shown elsewhere on screen. It is actually, because we show status bar icons for "signing enabled" and "encryption enabled".

So, part of solving this bug is the question, do we actually need hovering tooltips, or do we want something else, or close it as wontfix.
