I have an idea that might be very useful in filtering spam and is currently implemented in Eudora. 
As someone who has to delete a lot of spam everyday, I use this a lot. The idea is to create a filter 
based on a common feature in the selected messages. 

The common feature would be a string thats 
common to either :

1) "from"
2) "subject"

in
that order of priority. That makes it 
really easy to implement domain blocking if spammers randomly generate email address like they 
usually do, or when you get tons of spam from one domain - for example the domain 
postmastergeneral.com sends out all kinds of spam from different sub-domains, but 
"postmastergeneral" is the common string.

If there is nothing in common in these fields, 
then the next best thing would be to display a message stating that no common attributes could be 
found and display a new filter dialog.

Searching the body for common strings may present some 
interesting possibilities for filtering, but I don't think it's important or all that 
necessary. As for the date field, there wouldn't be any real need to search it
since the date 
always changes.

especially like the feature of multiple criteria for a filter. Very useful. Open source works.

We already have something similar - Prefill filter, click on the sender's address
and create a filter. marking won'tfix
