User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20170323110425 Steps to reproduce: Upgraded from 45.8.0. No other changes. System is running XP SP3. Actual results: Font smoothing/Cleartype settings from the system are not respected. After upgrading, Thunderbird appears to default to basic/no font smoothing. This appears to affect all elements of the user interface. Expected results: Thunderbird should use the system setting for font smoothing/Cleartype, or at lease use the settings from the previous version (45.8.0).
Component: Untriaged → General
Please note that the rendering of the user interface uses Mozilla core technology like Firefox. Do the fonts look better in Firefox?
I am also running Firefox 52.0.2 (ESR) and that does not seem to exhibit this behavior. It appears to be Thunderbird-specific.
Severity: normal → S3
