hope this is still the correct place even if CalDAV / calendar functionallity is now integrated as core function. But implementing the color property for events would be really great and helpfull.
This is the major issue preventing from migrating complete to thunderbird for productive use.

The underlying library to parse iCalendar data has changed with Thunderbird 102, and now defaults to ical.js. There is an incomplete implementation for RFC 7986, only supporting property "COLOR" for VEVENT not the iCalendar object or other calendar components (https://github.com/mozilla-comm/ical.js/pull/475).

👍 We need this for collaboration of different people with different operating systems and different email clients.
