1370120 - Attach dialog in 52.1.1 under KDE4 will not select file, doesn't respond correctly to mouse clicks.

Steps to reproduce:

Attempt to attach a file to an email


Actual results:

I click on the file, and it highlights. The highlight stays on that file, but follows the mouse as if I had held down the mouse button, dragging the selection up or down the list of files. The workaround is to select a file and then hit the ENTER key. You can also  see the heavy lines in the header section of the write dialog on the left side of the shot. I don't have the same problem on MATE(Gnome), XFCE, LXQt, or KDE 5 desktops. The problem seems to be restricted to KDE4, but is consistent on several instances of KDE4 I have running.






Expected results:

The dialog should allow selection of a single file.

If it's working in other distros, then there's little we can/will do about it.

Does Firefox have a similar dialogue and does it work/not work?

Yes, there are similar problems in Firefox, although the dialog box doesn't misbehave quite as badly. I'm writing it off to this version supporting GTK3.10.8 at this point.

Hi, just FYI

I have been experiencing the similar issues since Firefox ESR moved to version 52, and have recently tried firefox 55 with the same result.
 
This is on KDE 4.14.2.

fyi,

I experienced the same issue with Mint v18.1 (less than one year old)

TBird was working fine until update to v52.1.1.

Now the File-Attachment Dialog doesn't work anymore (can't make a file selection).

Updated to TBird v 52.3.0

Still doesn't work.


Oddly, Tbird v52.2.1 File-Attach dialog works as expected on 32-bit Mint 17.3.
