Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020412 Debian/0.9.9-6 BuildID: 0.9.9 / 20020412 I am using accounts on IMAP servers. These IMAP servers use Procmail or other facilities to pre-filter mail into various IMAP folders. However, the Mozilla folder list pane (on the left in the mail reader) will refuse to scan these folders for new mail -- with the sole exception of INBOX. I am faced with the annoying prospect of clicking on three dozen folders to find out current message counts and which ones have new or unread mail. Other mail clients (ie, Apple's Mail.app or GNUS) will scan all subscribed folders to get message counts when new mail is checked for (or, at minimum, when "send and received" or "rescan" is invoked). None of mozilla's options will coerce it to update counts from all folders. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up an account on an IMAP server with multiple folders. 2. Log in and observe that only INBOX has current message counts. Actual Results: Message counts that are nonexistant until a folder is clicked on for the first time, or which do not reflect current reality until clicked on. Expected Results: Current message counts.
This later bug is against a later build and seems to report the same problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 199608 ***
