Reproduction steps:

* Select a single message in the message list.
* Open the context menu and select "Open Message in Conversation"

Expected:

New tab created with thread view containing message.

Actual:

No change other than context menu dismissing.

Please don't post any unsolicited debug information into comments. If anything, attach it as a text file.

"Open Message in Conversation" works based on the global message database in folders which are indexed.

Looks like there is something wrong with your global message database. Do this:

Do a global search (CTRL+K) on one of the words in the subject or body of the message. Do you find the message (and it friends) in the result list?

If not, do "Help > Troubleshooting Information", and visit your profile in the file manager. Close Thunderbird, delete global-messages-db.sqlite. Start TB again and wait for the message database to rebuild, that can take a while. Then try the conversation view again.
