Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0rc1)
Gecko/20020417
BuildID: 2002041711
When running both Netscape 6 (6.2.2) and Mozilla, if Mozilla is opened first
(before Netscape 6) all is well. If Netscape 6 is opened first, the homepage is
Netscape's homepage (not the default homepage). If Mozilla is then opened
(Netscape can be opened or closed at this point) CSS and Javascript is not
renderred at all for all sites at all times. If Netscape 6 is then reopened, it
will still function properly. However, Mozilla will never work properly until
the computer is restarted.
There is also a quirkiness associated with the default browser status. After
Netscape 6 is opened, Mozilla will ask if it should be the default browser
although Netscape never changed it.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla
2. Open Netscape 6
3. Open Mozilla again
Actual Results: Mozilla no longer properly renderred CSS or Javascript.
Expected Results: No change in renderring should have occurred.
Programs that are usually running while running Mozilla and Netscape 6:
Serv-U FTP Server
Trillian (chat client)
The Bat (Email)
I am using the Modern theme but it occurs with the Classic thenme as well.
This never causes a crash or a freeze.
Computer config:
1.4 Gigahertz Athlon
512 Megs DDR RAM
40 Gigabyte Hard Drive (7200 RPM Ultra ATA)

The start page change is ok since you are using one profile with different
browser versions.
Do you run mozilla and Netscape at the same time to see the CSS problem ?

No. All I need to do is open Netscape before I open Mozilla. Once Netscape
is opened, whether I close it or not does not make a difference, Mozilla
still stops displaying CSS (this occurs in the sidebar as well).

I have updated to a new build with the same results. Build ID is now 2002043010.

I get similar problems when I install Mozilla 1.0 RC2 on a system with Netscape
6.2.2 already installed. Image display and CSS utilization goes awry. CPU
utilization is high. Mozilla's quick loader cancels out the one for Netscape.
Since I'm a web developer for multiple web sites that must run in multiple
browsers, I need to have Netscape and Mozilla peacefully coexist.

I missed that email so I just tried that now. So far so good. I'll follow up in
a week or so to let you know how it works out. I have both starting up with the
PC now so if it doesn't work, it won't take long to find out.

When I use a new profile, all seems to work well. However, if I do not use a new
profile, the problem persists. Sometimes, the problem does not go away even
after rebooting. I have to uninstall both browsers and then reinstall them to
get them to work properly.
The only reason why I have brought this up and continue to follow it, is that
multiple people use my computer. However, each one may use a different browser,
either because they perceive a difference, or they just don't care what browser
they use. But, they won't create their own profile because they either like my
bookmarks or don't want to/can't create their own. So, if two users open two
different browsers, we run into our problem.

Sounds like a shared profile. Reporter: when mozilla "acts up":
Does deleting cache help? If so: Dup of bug 156512 -> bug 146285

Correct! Clearing the cache does work. This is a duplicate bug. At least I now
know a workaround.
