For my profile (this profile has never used Mozilla, only Netscape), when I
upgraded from NS6 to NS7, the cache became corrupted. Many images would not
load (on Yahoo, Amazon, etc.).

I was really able to see the problem on www.elderscrolls.com. After upgrading
to NS7, all images showed up as broken, and the Flash at the top of the page
didn't load.

When I emptied my cache, the page became fixed.

How the hell do I stop getting information emailed to me on this Bug. I thank
you for telling me about clearing the Cache but I no longer want to be involved.

Thx!

Buh-bye.
gordon: perhaps we should consider bumping the disk cache version number for 7.0
just to avoid any potential problems like this.

Hyatt, did you have pipelining enabled in NS7? Are people seeing this with
pipelining disabled?

Looking at the summary, this bug is with NS7 PR1. Is that the case, or does it
apply to all versions of NS7?

Also, from my experience, comment #22 is probably the actual reason for this
problem.

The disk cache version was bumped last August (as per darin suggestion in
comment #18). Upgrading from N6 or N7 to moz1.4 based builds will clear the
disk cache (now on a separate thread).

It's been several months since we've seen a problem with this. I'm tempted to
close the bug as FIXED. Though we never determined why data from the disk cache
seemed to be incompatible between N6.1 and N7 (the format of the disk cache was
constant between those builds), we have eliminated the symptoms (by clearing the
disk cache).

Since the symptoms of this bug are assuaged by the checkin to bug 81724 that
revised the disk cache format version number (which triggers clearing disk
caches with older version numbers), I'm marking this bug FIXED.
