User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:51.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0 SeaMonkey/2.48
Build ID: 20170707010522
Steps to reproduce:
hi
i just go to my IP address to access my wlan routeur (netgear).
like http:// 192.168.1.12:808 (basic ip with port)
Actual results:
once i enter the right login and password, seamonkey forgets to ask me if i want to save the password in my preferences
Expected results:
As Firefox performs it since a long time, seamonkey should ask me to save the password like Firefox does (see the screenshot).
i always check my seamonkey preferences and cookies in the datamanager, and there is not information for not saving the password neither for not ask.
so i guess seamonkey forgets to ask about that kind of password authentification preference.

This should be fixed in 2.49.1
The release is done. Just release notes and a final verification is neccessary but you can use it:
https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.49.1/win32/
Please backup your profile before installing.
