Details

In order to expand MediaCapture test coverage, implementation of an audio loop back driver on Windows is being looked at. There is some existing Microsoft sample code which could be adapted to do so here[1] in a repo with the following license[2]. Is it possible to use code adapted from the above in testing? We would not ship the code in release, but it would be used in automation and would live in tree. The Microsoft Public License (MS-PL), which this is, is a certified open source licence. So that part is OK. However, it's not one of our usual ones, and there would be issues copying MS-PL code into other in-tree files or vice versa. It's not a copyleft license, so it doesn't affect other code around it. So as long as this code is relatively standalone, and you put an appropriate LICENSE file in the directory, and we don't ship it with Firefox, I don't see any problems. Gerv

Hey, Bryce - do we still want to act on this?

Not at this time. We can close this (I'm not sure what kind of resolution is appropriate, could you advise?), and I can reopen if the need returns.

Let's call it incomplete. We can revisit if we need to.
