From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041717 I have both a parallel printer and USB printer hooked up. Using A4 and the lpr command to print the pages appear fine but the footer isn't printed out even though it is specified in the page setup dialog. The Printer listbox on the printer dialog shows Postscript/default The previous ver 9.2 version of Mozilla handled this correctly (even though it sometimes printed out entirely black images rather than the correct image. The page text now prints correctly but the footers have disappeared. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.File / Print / Properties / Paper Size = A4 2.File / Print / Properties / Print Command = lpr -P S400_USB (where S400_USB is my printer's name 3.print the above entered URL 4.Headers OK but no footers Actual Results: Page prints out perfectly OK but there is no footer whatsoever Expected Results: Should print a footer as it is specified in the page setup and it worked properly in previous 9.2 version of Mozilla I tried to alter the magin settings. This has no effect. I you ues print preview you will notice that changing the margins does not affect where the footer or headers appear. As I am using inkjet printers (as most likley many other people are) There are very real limitations in how close to the start or end of the page they can print. Under print preview the footer appears at the extreme bottom of the page and there appears to be no adjustment setting for this. THe header appears at the extreme top of the page which prints out on my printers (an HP deskjet 70C and Cannon S400SP) but about 5mm from the top of the page. It looks like there should be some control over where the footers (and headers) actually print on the page or your should offset them using the margin setting not the page settings which is what it looks like you are doing now. ie if my bottom margin is 1 inch the footer should be placed relative to that, say .2 of an inch below. (any chance of some metric in here for the one or two of us users to whom inches mean very little) I can understand that the current situation is probably ideal for many laser printer users but if you default to this behaviour alot of ink jet users will see this as a bug. If you wanted to get really complex about it you would have to know the type of printer being used to determine default behaviour.
There's a setting for this under the "Properties" button in the print dialog... That does not work correctly at the moment due to bug 140669 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 140669 ***

Reporter: Does deleting or renaming the ~/.mozilla fix the problem for you ?
Tried renaming the .mozilla directory as suggested by Roland MainzUnfortunately neither moving and renaming the .mozilla directory and then re-importing netscape 4 profie or creating a fresh (default) profile has any impact on this.
