Details

(Whiteboard: [gfx-noted])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20171113102334 Steps to reproduce: Use touch input. 1. Menu -> Help -> About Firefox Using GNOME and having "modal dialogs" (in gnome-tweak-tools) disabled (i.e. the child windows can move freely and are not "pinned" to parent windows). In Firefox I also have "widget.allow-client-side-decoration" enabled (see Bug 1283299), but I don't think this makes any difference. Actual results: The window is shown. However, I cannot move the window by dragging the title bar and I cannot close it or minimize it with the buttons in the title bar. I can, however, click (i.e. touch) on the links in the window. Mouse input works. Expected results: The window is shown. I can interact with it like with any other window or the "usual"/"main" Firefox.
Component: Untriaged → General
I just tried it with "widget.allow-client-side-decoration" disabled and I can confirm that it is **unrelated** to that setting, i.e. even when it is disabled, I experience this issue. BTW: The issue that I cannot move the window actually applies to the whole Firefox (Bug 1418792), but that I cannot close the window is only an issue of the "about window".
Summary: "About Firefox" window cannot be moved/closed with touch input → "About Firefox" window cannot be closed with touch input
Ah just could find out the issue: I am using Wayland, but as Firefox does not support Wayland yet, I tried the NightlyWayland build (flatpak) and it does indeed solve this issue.
Closing as WFM since this appears to be a Wayland issue fixed in their upcoming release.

It looks like this bug will be fixed when Firefox will fully support Wayland.

Is that fixed now when firefox is running as "GDK_BACKEND=wayland firefox"? Thanks.

AFAIK Firefox uses Wayland by default now, if possible.

So yes, I can confirm it is fixed in FF 66, at least. (Fedora 29)
