Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0
Build ID: 20171123171849

Steps to reproduce:

I was searching on google:
https://www.google.nl/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=mount+with+noatime+option&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Actual results:

First result in Firefox is this:
ftp://ftp.iitb.ac.in/LDP/en/solrhe/chap6sec73.html

Following that link, I got strange scary pop-ups. So I tried the same search in Chromium and Opera.

I get different results:, first link is:
http://en.tldp.org/LDP/solrhe/Securing-Optimizing-Linux-RH-Edition-v1.3/chap6sec73.html

Expected results:

Getting the same results in Firefox as in other browsers.
Shouldn't the internet be device/platform neutral.

Furthermore following the first link in Firefox got me strange pop-ups,

To sum it up, Firefox felt like a less trusty browser, showing weird pop-ups on Google results, while those results are not shown to Chromium browser users.
Maybe that's Google fault, but still it is an issue for Firefox users.
This obviously can't be solved in Firefox. That's Google's business.

Not 100% sure here.

Google is offering an FTP result. That could be related to:
- UserAgent, Accept or other header in request, is Firefox indicating to accepting FTP results, while Blink browsers are not
- the search-deal Firefox has with Google
