User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.132 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Client OS: Windows 10 Citrix Client: Receiver v4.8.0.1010 Host OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Host Delivery: Citrix XenApp 6.5 Delivered Application: FireFox Quantum, 57.0.4 On my Windows 10 Surface Pro, launched Citrix Receiver then launched FireFox Quantum v57. Browsed to Youtube.com. Actual results: Got video, no audio. Tested IE11 on the same server, no issue with audio nor video. Expected results: Expected audio. Tried this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/i-cant-play-audio-remote-desktop-connection Worked for RDP, not for ICA. Had to set security.sandbox.content.level to Level 1 instead. That worked. Maybe test this out on your end and publish out a KB for this?

Richard, thanks for the helpful report! Bob, you might want to be aware of this one as well, a slightly different spin on bug 1385207. Liz, what would be involved in adding a support.m.o article with the information the reporter gave us (as he rightfully suggested). Also, do we have a similar Citrix setup somewhere in a QA lab to test this out properly? Who would be the best person to ask this?

(In reply to Paul Adenot (:padenot) from comment #1) ... > Bob, you might want to be aware of this one as well, a slightly different > spin on bug 1385207. Thanks, interesting (unfortunately) that this requires more permissions in order to get it working.

Joni, can you add this info on SUMO or find someone who can do it? Looks like at least 57 is affected, but probably current versions too.

Hi Liz, I've updated the article to 1 instead of 2, although I'm unable to test it. Can someone let me know if the updated instructions don't work before we set it for localization? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/i-cant-play-audio-remote-desktop-connection

Joni, can you instead, as pointed out in comment 1, "add a support.m.o article with the information the reporter gave us", instead of modifying the existing one? The existing one is about Microsoft's RDP (Remote desktop protocol), and need a sandbox level of 2. The new one would be about Citrix's ICA (Independent Computing Architecture) and need a sandbox level of 1. Thanks !

Sorry, I misunderstood the problem at first. I've put up an article here: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/videos-dont-have-sound-citrix If you'd like to make any changes, please feel free to edit the SUMO article directly (you'll need an account) or add any suggestions here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pnywd2Uj4_x98ZrmakW7QxF2g-SOb5lLsL0bz5l7rWU/edit?usp=sharing

Too late to fix for 58 but we could still potentially take a patch for 60 or even 59.
This is not something we can fix, short of finishing up audio remoting on Windows.

So should this bug be closed then?

Flags: needinfo?(padenot)

Yes, audio remoting on windows is well on its way now, this is bug 1590249.
