When selecting text with the left mouse button an pasting with the middle mouse button, garbage appears in the text fields rather than the desired text. The garbage looks like (in my font) an "S" with accents, a space, and a "U" with accents. In my current session, this seems to have been fixed by using a CTRL-C/CTRL-V paste. Now the middle mouse paste works OK. Using RC2 on linux.

worksforme, linux trunk build 2002-05-12-08. Is this reproduceable? Is this branch-only?
It's semi-reproducable. It happens a lot to me. Also, pastes from other apps (when they work) will do this too. Pastes to other apps are not a problem. Basically, for me, middle button pastes are horked on RC2. I might have time to try a nightly. I'll also see if it happens with my other RC2 installation.

Ctrl-C - Ctrl-V produces garbage when copying and pasting from Mozilla to itself, from Mozilla to another app, but copying from another app and pasting to mozilla is ok. Same goes for the middle mouse button.
Are you using today's build? If so, that's bug 164940
Does anybody still see this? I can't reproduce it with Firefox 0.8.
