User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 Build ID: 20180206200532 Steps to reproduce: E-mail arrived in my Inbox during a drag-and-drop operation of e-mail (four e-mails) to a folder. At the time I had the mouse cursor over the destination folder which was highlighted in blue but had not yet completed the drag-and-drop by releasing the left mouse button. Actual results: See the attached partial screenshot of the folder pane. Thunderbird is in the Vubridge folder but the Skiing folder, which was the destination folder for the aborted drag-and-drop operation, remains highlighted. Expected results: Drag-and-drag operation should not have been aborted by the arrival of new e-mail. And if it is to be aborted, it should be aborted cleanly, not leaving the destination folder of the drag-and-drop highlighted.

Yes, these seem to be related, though in bug 458570 it seems to be the e-mail item that has the stuck highlight ("toast" in the poster's jargon), rather than the destination folder. FWIW, for the present bug was also exhibited with IMAP folders.
