Steps to reproduce:

The people receiving my mails with this kind of characters : ï¿1⁄2 
For example : 
"Merci de me le retourner valid� par retour d'e-mail."



Expected results:

I would like my mails are receiving correctly without   ï¿1⁄2

This is a current problem with all e-mail services provided by AT&T, Yahoo, BellSouth, etc.

Workaround: Set preference mail.strictly_mime to true.
