In bug 1447644 we want to remove what appear to be extraneous fields from reported histograms... but before we do that, we should make sure they are actually extraneous.
We should look at any code that uses `histogram_tools.py`, as well Scala code such as moztelemetry, telemetry-batch-view and telemetry-streaming
