In the mozmill tests are a lot of overlays too: https://dxr.mozilla.org/comm-central/search?q=overlay+chrome%3A%2F%2F+-path%3Aobj-x86+path%3Amail%2Ftest&redirect=false Somebody should remove them too.
That's not going to be so easy. There is that jsbridge add-on that overlays TB, no? overlay chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.xul chrome://jsbridge/content/overlay.xul There's also overlay_tb.xul which already spits errors, if I remember correctly, and could just be removed.
