144908 - crash when cancelling out of mail account creation

I am running rc2 on MAC OSX.  I do not have any mail accounts configured.  If I
click on a mailto link, then cancel out of the mail/news account creation, then
confirm and click either exit or cancel, mozilla crashes.

It does not crash if I start the mail/news component and cancel out of account
creation.

Confirming in Build 2002072308. Also noting that bug 149288 and bug 157540 are
duplicates of this bug.

Two methods to invoke the crash:

1 Click on mailto: link (with no mail account configured)
2 When New Account Setup Wizard appears click Cancel
3 When asked to confirm click Cancel
4 Crash

or

1 From Menu Bar select File > New > Message
2 When New Account Setup Wizard appears click Cancel
3 When asked to confirm click Cancel
4 Crash

This bug does not occur if you select Window > Mail & Newsgroups from the Menu
Bar; you can click Cancel repeatedly with no ill effect, going back and forth
between the two dialog windows.

Adding crash log. This was generated after crashing by the second method I
described above(select File > New > Message). It also crashes if you use the
keyboard shortcut(Shift + dang-cloverleaf-thing-without-a-real-name + M). This
is on OS X 10.1.5 (Build 5S60a).

Thanks for noting the dupes, Dylan.

-> racham, at least initially to sort out why the behaviour of cancelling 
 out of the AW is different if launched from the compose window, versus
the threepane (which may provide some insight to where things go wrong).

see also bug 138462 -- on other platforms, the steps-to-reproduce here screw up
the account wizard, but there is no crash.  could someone here try the patch
from that bug and see if it helps with the crash on Mac?

I used the patch from bug 138462, as mentioned above by Andrew. It fixes the bug
- pressing on cancel in the dialog boxes simply dismisses the dialog(s), no more
crash.
