Among sane people with even a passing acquaintance with the history of the
C20th, this infantile assertion of the symbol, under which the most vicious,
depraved and blood-thirsty tyrannies of that century conducted their oppression,
is deeply offensive. I am a great believer in Open Source, and I detest this
symbolism. I also believe that this single symbolic stupidity can do (and
probably has done) incalculable damage to the cause of OSS. Get rid of it.

Actual Results: Desire to throw up.
Expected Results: Sense of abiding joy at the success of this Open Source

Comrades! What? No open debate?
This is a perfectly reasonable and perfectly serious enhancement request. I
suggest that you let it stand, and give everyone a chance to THINK about the
cost of this imbecility. I repeat, for the hard of hearing, that this damages
the credibility of both mozilla and the open source community.

WONTFIX for reasons given in bug 43647 I would say.
I would also take the advice of the one of the wisest fictional
characters there is :
"They didn't know what the symbols and paradoxes meant. Instead of following
the finger that points to the moon, they sat down and worshipped the finger
itself. Instead of following the map, they thought it was the territory and
tried to live in it. Instead of reading the menu they tried to eat it. Dig ?"
- Miss Portinari
Peter, I imagine this has been done to death on the newsgroups :
try groups.google.com

As long as the request is in bugzilla on public view, I have made my point. The
responsibility for the damage will rest with others.
P.S. moz, I'm not the one who can't let go of the symbol. I follow the pointing
finger to the mountains of bodies. Dig it?

The star didn't kill anybody, it's not the star's fault.
Don't worship the finger.
