Hi, why was this reported in the upstream Mozilla bug tracker and not in the Debian bug tracker if you can only reproduce on Debian? :) I don't see a Mozilla Firefox bug here (yet)...

Are you using the debian build of Firefox? Or an official version from mozilla.org ? Which version? (The bugreport says 57, which is 3 release versions out of date and unsupported) Can you reproduce with a second, clean user profile without the add-ons? ( https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles - you won't need to lose your current user profile + data to test this)

( > https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox- > profiles - you won't need to lose your current user profile + data to test yeah,I have test it with new profile before, installed firefox60 by synaptic(that's mean it's debian build, test 57~60 ) I am sure of these: 1.Not hardware issue. have test with3 mouse,pc and notebook. 2.Not addon issue for new clean profile. Os details: Debian x64 kernel:4.9.0.6 de:xfce4 another similar issue can be produced : 1.open new tab, type 123 in search box of the web ,ctrl+a, crtl+c to copy all ; 2.type abc in search bar(provide by firefox custom ,not in searchbox of step 1,i mean) ,and select abc by mouse(just select and not by ctrl+a),right click and paste, itshould be 123,but abc istead. so maybe there something wrong with the mouse event between debian , ff or xfce4 (sorry for not test on other linux build and de)

If this reproduces on a clean profile I expect an issue with xfce and/or our gtk integration, so moving over there.
Component: Menus → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core
Version: 57 Branch → 60 Branch
in ff 61,it changes behavior,if you copy A and wana paste to overwiter B SELECT BY MOUSE in searchbar, the pop menu will appear preventing you do it
