Steps to reproduce:
I downloaded and installed the following binary :
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/52.8.0/linux-x86_64/en-US/thunderbird-52.8.0.tar.bz2.
Actual results:
On CLI, we have this version reported :
# /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird --version
Thunderbird 52.8.0
But in About window, I can see the previous release number : 52.7.0
Expected results:
It should show the correct version ID. In this case the 52.8.0
