I have verified that this issue is no longer reproducible on Windows 10 x64, Mac 10.13 and Arch Linux, with the latest Nightly (62.0a1 - 20180607220114) build installed. Now the half circle border around the type icons, from the "Highlights" area, blends with the image above.
