Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0
Build ID: 20180616190244

Steps to reproduce:

run firefox with GDK_BACKEND=wayland

Nothing suspicious is printed to console.

Distribution: Gentoo
ENV: GNOME 3.28.x - 3.29.x
Laptop: Dell XPS 9350 (intel
GPU: Intel Corporation Skylake GT2 [HD Graphics 520]
Mesa drivers: media-libs/mesa-18.1.2

Firefox compilations choices:
dbus gmp-autoupdate hwaccel jemalloc pulseaudio startup-notification system-jpeg system-libevent system-libvpx system-sqlite wifi -bindist -custom-cflags -custom-optimization -debug -gtk2 -hardened (-neon) -pgo (-selinux) (-system-cairo)

Actual results:

Firefox is fully operational (as I see cursor changing when hovering over input fields), but whole presented window is just blank white.

Expected results:

firefox should present content as when x11 backend is selected.
Blocks: wayland
Summary: wayland white window → blank white window when Wayland backend is selected
Yes I can confirm that, I see the same on Fedora 29 (rawhide) with gtk3 3.22.30 / noveau drivers / gnome-shell. I can see popup windows only, when I click on hamburger menu or menu from menubar. But toplevel window is blank.
