I can't make it work sorry. It seems that I am connected to the VPN since I do get the DUO push notification to my phone and then have the padlock icon on my network connection (on Ubuntu) but going to ship-it.mozilla.org does not load any site, it also doesn't respond to a ping or nslookup. I tried to hardcode our DNS servers (10.22.72.136, 10.22.75.40, 10.22.75.41) in all the places I found that could make sense such as /etc/resolv.conf, the ethernet settings for my ethernet connection and the VPN settings (via the network manager), restarted both networkmanager and even my machine multiple times, I still can't reach this site. At this point I am questionning if my VPN connection actually works, is there a test page somewhere that would be reachable via the VPN only so as that I can at least check that my VPN access works as intended? Since the documentation at https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/IT/Configuring+OpenVPN+on+Ubuntu says that there are errors in our documentation, is there an example somewhere of a working openvpn config file so as that I can compare it with what I have on my machine? Or maybe if I can get the IP for the server for Ship It I could just put it in my hosts file?
OK, this was our VPN configuration script that had bugs. After applying the fixes to our default config listed at https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/IT/Mozilla+VPN?focusedCommentId=55313152#comment-55313152 I can finally access ship-it.mozilla.org and confirm that I can log in. marking as fixed, thanks Ludo for the help on IRC!
