Actual results: Selected columns did not stick the next time I opened Search. Expected results: Selected columns should have remained fixed.
There are two search facilities, each with different UI. (Plus a filter) Which search menu or button item are you using to start search?

On the first page of T'bird,, before going into email. Allows for a search - Under Advanced Features/Search messages.
