Details
To post to the dev-telemetry-alerts mailing list you must be a member.
This bug is to auto-enroll any email address present in alert_emails fields of probes to the membership of dev-telemetry-alerts.
As a result we hope that we will see more action on alert emails: more investigations, more replies, more discussion.
One downside: anyone who is on the alert_emails field for any probe will now receive emails for alerts on any probe. Digests may be the appropriate way to mitigate this. Either way we'll need a consultation and notification period before this begins, and this will block on resolving bug 1470885
(and let this serve as a soft requirement for any alerting system we design in the future: it should be easy for anyone who has signed up in alert_emails to discuss their alerts)

I guess auto-importing alert_emails into whitelist of dev-telemetry-alerts would be better since that would allow people to reply frictionlessly at least?
