User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0
Build ID: 20180904093908

Steps to reproduce:

Install Thunderbird 60.0
Click on Mail
Try to find a setting to change the displayed date format to ISO8601 YYYY-MM-DD format

Actual results:

There is no option except for this hack which no longer works
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Date_display_format

Expected results:

Regardless of where I currently reside, I should be able to set the format of dates to be displayed. The use of LOCALS should be a nice default but should never be the only option.

This is done correctly in Claws -> Configuration -> Preferences -> Display -> Summaries -> Date Format, where you can override the default %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S (%a)

Evolution -> Edit -> Preferences -> Mail Preferences -> Headers -> Date/Time Format, where you can override the default %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S (%a)

There are other hacks to get what you want, see bug 1426907. I made this an enhancement since you want a new option to do it.
