**Operating System**: Mac OS X 10.13

**Description**: Blur slows down interactions

**Steps to Reproduce**:
1. Click on the hamburger menu on the top-right
2. A menu is shown while the background blurs
3. Website slows down during the slow blur

I can confirm the original report on my mac -- if you toggle the hamburger menu open and closed (you can hit Esc to close it once it's open) there's a pretty laggy blur to unblurred, uh paint thingy.
