Bug 1489605 shipped a system add-on for 60 ESR to disable e10s for users of JAWS versions before 2018 due to incompatibility. Some of these users may choose to update to JAWS 2018 or later. In this case, we want to re-enable e10s and allow them to update once a future release becomes available.
Note that it’s important we test for the presence of new JAWS for this purpose, not the absence of old JAWS. Otherwise, the workaround may be unintentionally disabled should the user (or another user of the system) start Firefox without JAWS running.
Since this involves releasing a new version of the system add-on, it probably makes sense to do this work in conjunction with bug 1494926.
