Attaching a set of three annotated screenshots & sending a note to '[e-mail]' (per the guidelines/recommendations at 'https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/forums/'); also linking '[1482934]' as its mention of "mailman" suggests the root cause of this problem is a ongoing/long-lived maintenance issue:

At present the web-based interface for mailing list subscriptions is such that the list options presented to a given user - when clicking a given footer link (see '[1410789]' for another related, recently-created bug) - are not always the same, i.e. are dependent upon either when a given subscriber provided their address *or* where it was provided (e.g. via 'mozilla.org' v/s via the Firefox download page v/s a mobile device's configuration screens, etc.).  

NOTE:  If a given subscriber should be expected to manage his/her own subscriptions - no differently than any given developer - then the link in the footer should present a comprehensive list of lists available (say, with developer lists collected & collapsed under a "developer" heading); being careful with address specification, while sufficient to identify this issue, was - apparently - not enough to preclude the (undesired) outcome, i.e. "factioned" subscriptions.

What's needed to help get this bug squashed?  As the bug itself pertains to Mozilla infrastructure, i.e. something which cannot be fixed by the community (and, as would be needless to say, dismissed out-of-hand by false appeals to the same) one needn't argue about scaling of the effort to understand that the problem is both public-facing & ongoing until confirmed and remediated.  Can a lowly reporter (and well-wisher) actually do anything more than send along his annual check...?

In regards to the email preference center, the experience is unique to each subscriber (i.e. it's customized). A few things:

• We are thinking about adding some disclaimer text in the lower left corner of the preference center (i.e. these are the majority of the subscriptions we manage, but to manage your accounts [go here], for forums [go here], etc.)
• We are currently exploring options for a web based interface that all users would be able to go to manage their subscriptions
