Steps to reproduce:

Have the archive set to "Keep message archives in: Other -> Archive - account@mail.com on Local Folders". Archive options are "Monthly archived folders" and "Keep existing folder structure" is on.

Have a mail in the "Sent" folder of an account.

Archive this mail.

Select the archived mail in the archive, in Archive -> 2018 -> 2018-01 -> Sent.

Archive this mail again.

Actual results:

Mail is nowhere to be found. Couldn't find it via Search either, in local or remote trash.

Expected results:

Archived mail should not be able to be archived again.

Or archive an archived mail should be a noop.
Confirmed. And very strange.
Perhaps related to bug 969513?

The problem does NOT happen if "Monthly archived folders" and "Keep existing folder structure" are OFF.
So some combination of these two settings is what triggers this.

But also not understood, is what the interaction is with Local Folders - because local folders account doesn't have an archive settings. Also not tested, is whether this happens if the target is an imap account, rather than local folders.

I can't confirm this. Every time I archive the Message, a new subfolder
structure is created and the mail is moved to there.

The setting of the default account is used.
Could it be that this setting is incorrect in your default account?
Does it work, if you archive a mail from a different local folder?

Works also for me.
Ray, are you able to test and reproduce comment 0?
And clarify which setting triggers this per comment 1?

Thanks, I didn't know that.

The account I tested moving from is the default account.
