149848 - handling problem while ftp download and all other windows closed

Description

I start to download a file via ftp. The download starts. 
Then I close all other Mozilla (browser etc.) windows. After that I want to 
open again a browser window, I get the window to select the profile and when I 
select profile default (the only one I have) it says the profile is already in 
use, which is correct but I also can't start any browser windows from the 
status windows of the still running ftp download.

This has been reported many times: bug 48352, bug 62018, bug 65333 and more.
It was fixed on Windows. There's still bug 21296 on Mac.

workaround:
mozilla -remote "xfeDoCommand(OpenBrowser)"     (see bug 122698)

workaround that doesn't work but should:
Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2 (standard keyboard shortcuts to open browser, mail, etc)

MASS-CHANGE:
This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project. This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state.

From the download manager, you can now (SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 and later) open a new browser or other window, it has full menus. We don't plan to change anything for the progress window regarding this, though.
