Since the addition of Firefox for Amazon Devices:

Firefox for Fire TV is no longer an option at:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/community/top-contributors/questions

Firefox for Fire TV is no longer an option when editing question details (moderator permissions?), so unable to move questions to the right forums.

Summary: Missing "Firefox for Fire TV" data → Can't select "Firefox for FireTV" and "Firefox for Echo Show" when 1. moving Firefox questions from another product 2. "Top Contributors Support Forum" dashboard (can only select "Firefox for Amazon Devices"
Firefox for Fire TV and for Echo Show have become topics under the "Firefox for Amazon Devices" product. It seems like the issue is that questions can only be moved between products? Can you move it to the Amazon Devices product and then update the topic for the right product?
There are still two separate fora, one for each product, and the Community Hub page (for Amazon Devices) is not showing the total stats of the two products - the Fire TV stats seem to have gone. Kitsune still feels like it is running them as two products.

We can move questions to the Amazon devices product, but not the other way to the Fire TV forum (where the occasional new questions are still appearing).

Yes you can! See:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1237398 which I moved to product "Firefox for Amazon Devices" to product "Firefox for Amazon devices", topic "Firefox for Fire TV" from Firefox
but that doesn't solve Seburo's use case of being able to view stats, questions , etc for Fire TV separately from Echo Show as far as I can tell.
Correct me if I am wrong in the following :seburo, :pmac or :joni!

This may in fact be a consequence of the decision to have "sub AAQs" i.e. two separate Forums (or is it fora, need to ask my latin teacher :-)!) namely:
1. "Firefox for FireTV" and
2. "Firefox for Echo Show" under the overall AAQ for "Firefox for Amazon devices",
right :joni and :pmac ?

If this is a bug, I think this is two bugs:

= Bug 1 Can't move questions to "Firefox for FireTV" and "Firefox for Echo Show" just "Firefox for Amazon Devices" =

== Steps to reproduce  ==

1. Go to any Firefox desktop question with moderator privileges
e.g. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1237353

2. Click "Edit details" under "Question details" and then click on the "PRODUCT" dropdown

== Expected Result ==

I am able to select "Firefox for FireTV" and "Firefox for Echo Show" i.e. the exact relevant "family" of Amazon devices.

== Actual Result ==

I can only select "Firefox for Amazon Devices" which is close but not the exact "family"

= Bug 2 Can't select "Firefox for FireTV" and "Firefox for Echo Show" in the "Top Contributors Support Forum" dashboard (can only select "Firefox for Amazon Devices")

== Steps to reproduce ==

1. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/community/top-contributors/questions logged in as admin

== Expected Result ==

I can just see the results for separately for "Firefox for FireTV" and "Firefox for Echo Show"

== Actual Result ==

I can only see "Firefox for FireTV" and "Firefox for Echo Show" combined into one which is called:
"Firefox for Amazon Devices"
i.e. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/community/top-contributors/questions?product=firefox-amazon-devices

There's value in being able to bucket questions into either Fire TV or Echo Show. These two items are currently "topics" instead of products in our platform because "Amazon devices" is the product.

We should at least be able to tag a question with what we define as a topic, in this case, either Firefox for Fire TV or Firefox for Echo Show.
Flags: needinfo?(jsavage)
This is a strange case because topics have never been used to indicate products before. It's also a bit limiting since we can't have the normal topics for Firefox for Echo Show for example. Perhaps these should both be products on their own? It's possible we could do something visually on the site to better group them instead of making them topics? Otherwise I think we'll need to think of Firefox for FireTV and Echo Show as the same product called "Firefox for Amazon Devices" and just go with that.
Being a little confused, I have had a cold look at both of these products.

- AAQ has a split in it for the two products, which delivers questions to one of two forum - okay, I guess. Kind of makes sense with them both being Amazon screen products.
- There are two forums to answer questions in - okay, and a good thing.
- The top contributor display links to stats for each of the two products - okay
- But the two products are not selectable from the drop-down menu on that page, only one is - weird
- I have figured out how to move a question between forums using the subcategory - Took a little bit of figuring out after a busy day at work, but I did it.

So at present, I think that the only issue is the hiding / missing stats page for FxTV.

I agree with Joni that there are two products here. The apps themselves are different (both in terms of code (which is sufficient for there to be a difference, but also in the method of delivery) and I think we should treat them as such. If FxTV can be included back in the community hub product selection drop down (and it displays the existing data for that product), I think this could be resolved.

Needinfo'ing Ashley Thomas, the Mozilla product manager for Firefox on Amazon devices to decide or to help us to decide :-) on how our SUMO forums should be set up for Firefox on Amazon devices.
Flags: needinfo?(athomas)
I am just very confused over why we have changed our approach to new products in SUMO.

We now have two forums, but the questions are only going to one, and it does not look (having just tested) that we can move the products between the two. The community stats for FxTV also seem to have been obscured which is not very nice.

Can't we just have things like they used to be (which works very well)? Separate forums and community stats for those forums for each new product?
Jumping in from Roland's comment. Firefox for FireTV and Firefox for Echo Show have similar features, but they are different browsers. The support information will likely be different for each and I think it will continue to diverge. Why is this? How you interact with each browser is different - Echo Show offers a touch screen, while FireTV is used through a remote. And the use case for each device is different - the FireTV is primarily used for watching videos

I hope that information helps in making your decision on how to set up the products.

When this work is done (hopefully soon!) to split out these products, please can "Firefox for Amazon Devices" be renamed "Firefox for Amazon Echo Show".
