Originally part of bug 1294490, in this bug we will land the turning on of WebP support by default. It will still ship in nightly 65 soon however the fuzzing team would like the opportunity to fuzz before we turn it on by default.

We will want to add it to at least our Nightly release notes, Andrew could you request the addition to release notes? Thanks https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Release_Notes#How_to_nominate_a_bug_for_release_notes_addition.3F
Flagging for addition to release notes. Probably should link to https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/.

Note to MDN writers: I have added a note to the Fx65 rel notes to cover this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox/Releases/65#Other We still need to document this in other appropriate places on MDN. In fact, I think it'd make sense to add a proper reference guide to images formats supported on the web. This work is outlined on this card: https://trello.com/c/KbbXqkmA/145-add-improve-documentation-on-image-audio-and-video-file-formats
