1. Download latest geckoview_example from
https://index.taskcluster.net/v1/task/gecko.v2.mozilla-central.nightly.latest.mobile.android-api-16-opt/artifacts/public/build/geckoview_example.apk
2. Install and navigate to twitch.tv/ninja
3. Play video
The screen remains black even while the chat box is showing the chat feed.
If I install the build from yesterday and visit the same site, the feed works.

Spoofing UA string on desktop to Android still works on latest nightly. Sending bug to GV team.
Imanol, it seems a little suspicious that the MediaDelegate stuff landed at the same time. Related?

I noticed some media problems also after a GeckoView update: https://github.com/MozillaReality/FirefoxReality/issues/726
Could that be related?
Maybe. Nils, can you folks take a look? I don't think there's much in GV that could affect Twitch.

The problems I noticed started happening between between GV `65.0.2018110510013`and `65.0.20181104100117`
It's broken in Fennec as well.

[Tracking Requested - why for this release]:
Not being able to play Twitch videos in Fennec or GV-powered apps is a major regression.
Moving to the "Core::Audio/Video: Playback" component because this looks like a video bug.

Isn't that the same as bug 150607?

jya, thanks for confirming. It looks like the same bug. The changelog for regression range reported in comment 0 includes your fix for VP9 bug 1497951, which also caused that bug 1506076.
